3 Awesome Ways to Thank Donors This Week

Thanksgiving is on Thursday this week, which means it a perfect time of year to spread the gratitude and say “thank you!” to your donors.

Here are 3 awesome ways to thank your donors this week.

Idea #1 Send a Gratitude Email

I loved this email from Invisible Children. This delight showed up in my inbox a few days ago and is a great example of simple, but effective stewardship.

Idea #2 Send a Handwritten Note

While they might not receive it until a day or two after Thanksgiving, it’s the thought that counts. You could write something like:

“Thanksgiving is this week and as we count all of the things that we are grateful for, you’re at the top of our list! Thank you for helping/doing ______.”

Idea #3 Whip Up a Thank You Video

No, you don’t have to have the budget of Pixar to create a great thank you video. The production quality isn’t what really matters. It’s all about the message and the sincerity of its delivery.

This video from the Nature Conservancy is terrific because it shows the wide variety of people and projects that donors are supporting.

What will your non-profit do to say thanks? Leave a comment below and share your ideas!
