Summer FUNraising Women In Fundraising

Gender Issues in Non-Profit Fundraising

This episode of Summer FUNraising has been a long time coming. This week, Mazarine Treyz and I discussed gender issues in fundraising and what individuals and organizations can do about it.

I really appreciated the great questions people sent in and observations that were shared in the chatbox during the episode. To me, it was a real indication that many people are committed to ending gender inequality in our sector and beyond 🙂

Be forewarned that this is a political episode so if you don’t want to hear about feminism, you probably won’t enjoy this episode.

Mazarine and I mentioned a bunch of resources during our call. Here are links to a few of them:
Fundraising is Getting Paid for Emotional Labor
Reverse Sexism in Fundraising is Not a Thing, Sorry
Playing Big by Tara Mohr
Finding Your Own North Star by Martha Beck

A few other feminist books I’ve personally enjoyed reading this year that weren’t mentioned in the episode.
Shrill by Lindy West
Full Frontal Feminism by Jessica Valenti
The Red Tent by Anita Diamant
