Fresh Idea: New Year’s Cards

Many organizations send a special holiday card to their donors in November or December. This is a nice touch point, especially if it includes a handwritten note.

But sometimes, it can be impossible to get a holiday card out in a timely fashion. There is a lot going on in November and December as you are preparing for fundraising appeals and campaigns.

In the event that you were not able to send a holiday card, I want to suggest another option – New Year’s Cards.

January tends to be a less chaotic time and it’s a great month to focus on stewardship. A New Year’s Card is a nice way to thank donors for their holiday gift and send them well wishes. You don’t have to make a custom card for your organization. There are plenty of great cards that you can buy right off the shelf. Here are a few of my favorites.

These are so cute. We’re doing a custom New Year’s card for our major donors. It’s at the printer now and will be coming in at the 11th hour for me to to stuff, seal, and stamp while everyone else is off enjoying an extended holiday break. I’m starting on 2017’s year end stuff January 3.

I love that idea, Brianna! So nice that you are creating custom cards for your major donors.
