Happy Halloween! Are you eating lots of candy today? I’m enjoying my fair share of chocolate : )
Since it’s Halloween I thought it would be extra fun to do a giveaway on the blog. What am I giving away?
Win a copy of The Happiness of Pursuit by Chris Guillabeau.
You may already know that I read a lot (exhibit A and exhibit B). I think I average about 6 books a month. Earlier this month I read The Happiness of Pursuit, which was an awesome and inspiring read. Chris writes a blog called “The Art of Non-Conformity” that I’ve been reading for years. This book was a bit different. Christ talked about “quests” – those extra big dreams/goals that we have and pursue sometimes for years on end. Chris for instance was on a quest to visit every country on the planet, which he achieved earlier year. The book features numerous stories of other people and their quests, as well as providing some guidelines for developing your own quest.
My quest, at the moment, is undetermined. As many of you may know from an earlier post this year – I’m young. I’m 26. So there’s a part of me that feels like my quest will unfold naturally as an extension of doing what I love. I have ambitions of contributing substantial thought leadership or research to our sector that fundamentally changes how we fundraise. I also have day dreams about doing a project on donor education to actually get people excited about philanthropy – how awesome would that be?! I’m sure I’ll continue to mull this over for the next little while.
In the meantime, I would love for one lucky reader to get a brand new copy of The Happiness of Pursuit.
How to enter the contest: Leave a comment below this blog post and tell me about a quest that you’re on or one that you’d like to pursue. It doesn’t have to be related to work. It can be something fun and personal.
The contest closes on Friday, November 7, 2014 at 5 pm. Good luck!
