#CommBuild Tweet Up – Using Stories to Build Community

Last week I had the pleasure of hosting the #CommBuild weekly Twitter chat. #Commbuild is a group within the Nonprofit Technology Network and they get together each week to discuss tips and ideas for community building.  I was honored when they asked me to host a chat about storytelling and community building.

Some of my favorite takeaways from the chat include:

  • The need to define a group’s story and goal in order to build a stronger community.
  • The importance of asking open-ending questions
  • A reminder that stories are what make us human and allow us to connect in meaningful ways

The #Commbuild chat happens every Tuesday at 10 am Pacific/ 1 pm Eastern.
