Today is the day! A Woman’s Guide to Thriving in Fundraising is now available for you! You can download your free copy here.
Working on this guide over the last few weeks and writing an essay series about women’s advancement in the fundraising industry has been a real labor of love. What’s been truly rewarding about it has been the overwhelmingly positive response that I’ve received from so many women. I see this as our collective opportunity to come together and have meaningful conversations about solutions.
Solutions to the gender pay gap, which was recently reported to be as much as $12,000 in the US and $14,000 in Canada by the Compensation and Benefits Study. Solutions to sexual harassment and work place bullying. Solutions to helping people see and unlearn their privilege. Solutions to increasing diversity and equity in our profession.
These are big issues and by no means does this guidebook solve them. But I hope it’s a start.
I wrote A Woman’s Guide to Thriving in Fundraising as a first step for women to truly take the reins of their careers. This guide invites you to take pause, reflect and plan. In it, you’ll find the 6 principles for creating a fundraising career you love. I’ve included numerous reflection exercises and activities for you.
In addition to the 6 principles, you’ll find fundraising and life advice from over 30 women in fundraising. Women from all walks of life and in various stages of their careers have generously shared lessons they’ve learned, things they wish they knew and their stories from the trenches.
I hope you enjoy reading this guide and get a lot of value from it! Of course, I’d love to hear your thoughts on it. Feel free to leave a comment below this post or send me an email.
